Looking a gift horse in the mouth
OK…..Imagine this. Something that you have always been waiting for. You have dreamt about it. You have thought about it a million times, and imagined a million different scenarios in which it would happen. And then it happens.
Except, it happens in the one way that you had never thought it would happen. And yes, you are happy that it has finally happened. You have been waiting for it for a long time, and words cant describe your joy at that moment. But a bit later on, when you come down from cloud 9, there is also a sense that you wished it had happened in one of those million ways that you thought it could happen. And you are left feeling slightly cheated, for this very important thing didnt quite happen as you wanted it to happen.
So what do you do then? Do you then say to yourself, "I am glad it happened, no matter which way" and be happy with your lot? Or do you voice your thoughts and say "Actually, this shouldnt be how it should have happened"? Are you then being too demanding? And looking a gift horse in the mouth and finding faults with it coz it doesnt quite match up to your expectations? You are not an ingrate, but you are also a bit of a perfectionist, especially when it comes to important things. Dilemna.
I e..jactly know what you mean. I kinda feel the same way a lot of times. But would you be more happy if your life went the way you wanted it to, or if it jumped up and bit you when you least expected it. Things either can happen by themselves when they want to happen, or they can be made to happen. Now, this is a matter if choice, but if you ask me, then I will choose the former then later coz thats where the fun of life is.There are no stories about cinderalla’s death, but I can tell you for sure that she died of boredom. Why ? Coz she had the fairytale life. Everything was the way we all expect it to be. And that my dear, is very boring. But then again, its all upto you. Enjoy it, or weep thinking it went to waste.Chow…
